Dr. Sadegh Amini Koves was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. He attended medical school at the Universidad Central de Venezuela where he earned his medical degree in 1989. After a two-year internal medicine internship, he did his dermatology residency at his alma mater, the Universidad Central de Venezuela, from 1992 to 1994.
After graduating, Dr. Amini Koves worked as a dermatologist in private practice for 7 years, running a total of three offices in Caracas until 2002.
Dr. Amini Koves moved to the United States of America in 2003, where he started the road towards becoming certified in dermatology. In 2010, he finished a three-year clinical research fellowship at the Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at the University of Miami. Then he completed a general surgery internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami in 2011 and finished his dermatology residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami in 2014. At his graduation, Dr. Sadegh Amini Koves was recognized for his excellence in dermatologic surgery during his residency.
Dr. Amini Koves proudly comes from a family of dermatologists since both of his parents were dermatologists who graduated from New York University during the 1950s.
Dr. Sadegh Amini Koves has given more than 40 presentations and conferences in national and international dermatological meetings and has published more than 80 articles in national and international medical journals. He is a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, International Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and International Society of Dermatology.
